A Meteor Shining Brightly : Essays on Irish Confederate General Patrick R. Cleburne
by Mauriel Phillips Joslyn (Editor), Wiley Sword

Mrs. Joslyn is Georgia-born and the author of six books on the Civil War. Her expertise shows on this compilation of works about the renown Confederate General. The book features 12 works by 9 authors, edited by the able Mrs. Joslyn. The essays featured here, covering the highlights of Cleburne's life with thoughtful and well-documented insight, reveal the general's heart and provide a compelling read.
Stonewall of the West : Patrick Cleburne and the Civil War
by Craig L. Symonds

Noted Civil War writer Craig Symonds has a winner in spite of some factual errors. While we may be more partial to Gen. Cleburne's Georgia fighting, the book is a well written, in depth view of a general who has never gained the recognition he deserved.
Shrouds of Glory : From Atlanta to Nashville : The Last Great Campaign of the Civil War
by Winston Groom

If you didn't know it, Groom is the author of Forrest Gump. At times nearly overwhelming in detail, the book covers John Bell Hood and Patrick Cleburne's final battles, The Nashville Campaign. While I find this particular episode a sad ending to the Confederacy, I found the book compelling. The detail is remarkable and Groom recreates the encounters vividly.
Paths to Victory : A History and Tour Guide of the Stone's River, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville Campaigns
by Jim Miles

A must-have for any traveler visiting this area and interested in the Civil War. A Georgia schoolteacher, Jim Miles is not only familiar with the area, he knows the Civil War. We recommend this solid entry
Civil War Sites in Georgia
by Jim Miles

Recent addition to Jim's work, Civil War sites covers many of the places featured on the Blue and Gray Trail, and mentions the Trail itself.
